Lucky you! I am looking forward to some warm weather camping. It is supposed to be in the 20's here tonight. I hate winter :R
Cindi..Funny thing is this time of year is "cool weather" camping for us. No A/C...open the windows..Burrr...its in the low 60's here right now and gonna dip into the low 50's..Ahhh winter in So. Fla...Gotta love it. Hope it warms up a bit so we can dip our kayaks in the ocean..
PS... We are booked @ Ft. Desoto again for a week during Spring Break

43 is close to the restrooms/dump station I think... Some of those sites could be very buggy in the summer and the brush will block any breeze. Bring lots of bug spray and a few outddor fans to keep the air moving & an extra quick shade canopy. We camped at Bahia Honda the past 2 summers and really enjoyed it. We'll be back there in May Site 30 and August Site 13.
BH is the best park in The Keys..I wouldnt miss the snorkel trip..it departs from within the park.

Curry Hammock 4 Thanksgiving
Looking foward to 3 nights at Curry Hammock over Thanksgiving weekend. Any Forum members stop by for an after dinner drink. Opps I forget what site we are in..Not waterfront :S Site # 20...

We'll be there in eight days.We've got site #131 and we'll be there for three days,11/3,4,5.Then ,seven days @Bahia Honda and two days @ Gamble Rogers.

You got some driving to do.. Ft. Desoto to Bahia Honda is a about 6+ hours or more and the same ot more goes for Bahia Honda to Gamble Rogers.

I suggest you go to either Bahia Honda or Looe Key Dive Center and take the boat out to Looe Key. It's great-- lotsa fish and coral
Ditto on this info..Did the snorkle trip out of Bahia Honda last summer...great trip..

This will be trip #2 to JP... Its a nice park...not the best SP in the Keys but still fun and plenty of things to do. Its about a 90 minute drive for us. Hope the weather holds up.

Drove past Long Key SP after the "cut down" and it looks horrible. Curry Hamock is much nicer..Also there is Big Pine Fishing Lodge...about another 20 miles south of Marathon...Not much in Big Pine...

Sebastian Inlet Snook-Less
As requested Im posting a review of our weekend trip to Sebastian Inlet. The weather was perfect and there were plenty of Snook being caught...just not by me. The action seemed to pick up just before high tide. Cast netting finger mullet and Mahara (spelling?) seemed to be the best bet. I had 3 nice run offs and had 2 fish on for a few but lost em.

Folding Stairs Repair/Replace
The folding stairs on our TT broke this weekend. The Piece that broke is attached to a steel rod that stairs roll up under when closed. Can replace just the folding stairs or do I need to replace the entire assembly?

Probably fish the South Jetty as its easy access from the CG.Perhaps the North as well.I will be bringing the 10 ft surf rod as well so we may even hit the beach. Hope to relax...catch a few rays,fish. I'll post a report next Monday or Tuesday

Moved from Long Island almost 10 years ago but as I recall..Smith Point Park, Hither Hills SP, Wildwood in Wading River are a few that come to mind. Hither Hills in Montauk would be my choice...good luck finding a site.

Sebastian Inlet SP Fla. This weekend
We havent camped since July 4th and I have been bugging out since
(No pun intended). Talked the DW into a quick 2 night weekend at Sebastian.She prefers at least 3-4 nights. Its Snook season and one of these days Im actually going to catch a fish ! Stop by 18 if anyone here is going to be there...Its only a 3 hour drive..well worth it I think.

Dont think you can "cancel" reservations at Ft. Desoto...you can get a "credit" for a future camping trip. Pretty sure on this info but I may be wrong. We had to leave that park early one year and I recall the Ranger saying they dont refund but credit camping trips.
